LOVE YOUR BODY, ACCEPT YOURSELF

“Reflections in the mirror may be distorted by socially constructed ideas of beauty.” As a generalized societies point of view beautiful is defined as thin, tall, perfect supermodels on front covers of magazines. Women strive daily to achieve societies definition of beauty. True beauty lies within the depth of ones inner most soul. Radical self acceptance is an empowerment tool used to build self confidence, encouragement, awareness and get reacquainted with your beautiful, brilliant self. Image is everything used to create beauty, health and nourishment in a way that works for you.

Begin a good skin care regimen. When it comes to skin, that’s your whole body! So we start taking good care of it today.

One thing that’s often recommended is to drink plenty of water! Water helps to flush out toxins and give skin a crystal clear look. Also, try to up the veggie intake! Fruits and veggies are the golden rule to beautiful, glowing skin.

Do remove your makeup every night before you go to bed. Your skin needs to breathe at night and if you sleep with your makeup on frequently, you will get lots of pimples. Do exfoliate once a week. Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, and can even get rid of some blackheads and whiteheads. By exfoliating weekly, your skin will always look healthy and soft.

Always moisturize before you go to bed and in the morning; this gives your skin a soft and smooth feel at the start of the day.

Another secret to great skin? Exercise! Exercising daily helps your skin clear up and take in more oxygen-vital for keeping it healthy for life! A good reason to break out the jogging shoes, right?

Protect your skin from the sun. This is very important. Apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30) 20-30 minutes before you leave every time you leave your house! Remember, lighter skin tones burn easier than dark skin tones. So decide how much you need. A rough idea of how much you should use is that it takes the size of a big coin to cover up your face and neck and two tablespoons worth to cover your whole body.

Makeup
Makeup is supposed to enhance your face, not cover it.
You want to choose a color that will compliment and enhance your eye color while not overpowering your eyes.
• Accentuate your cheeks.
• Clean up your eyebrows.
• Wear the right color lipstick or gloss.
• Choose an eyeliner that compliments your eye color.

Body
Exercise and eat right. Regular exercise is an important part of staying healthy.
Be sure to get enough rest. When you don’t get enough rest, the body cannot repair itself, circulation is cut down and the skin receives less oxygen and nourishment.

Determine and embrace your body shape
Body shape is all about proportion, and fashion is all about dressing those proportions to look their very best.

When you think about body types, don’t focus on height and weight... focus on shape. A slender girl can have the same body shape as a curvy girl just as a short woman can have the same body shape as her taller friend.

Each of us is unique — and our bodies are, too! Nevertheless, our body shapes are generally narrowed down to five general categories: pear, wedge, rectangle, apple and hourglass. You might fall into one category, or you might be a blend of two or more categories.

Once you’ve determined your body shape, you can begin to consider which fashion trends to embrace and which to avoid. Spend some time in front of the mirror and do a fair and honest assessment of your body.

Love yourself and respect your body. Visage Medispa aims to provide a more powerful view of women and their role in life, to motivate women to step out of limiting self-beliefs that keep them stuck in roles of lack of power, submissiveness, victimhood, abuse and lack of self worth.

It is from this place of self-worth and empowerment that we can look at the world as a place where we can freely express who we are and surround ourselves with people who honour love and respect us as we honour, love and respect ourselves.

Honour yourself
By honouring yourself and treating yourself with respect, you set the stage up for others to treat you with respect. Visit Visage Medispa and Helia D International Bassonia campus for your image transformation.
